Just a short post on where I ended up on my own lately… At Ballyseedy Garden Centre just a mile from Tralee town on the main road in and out of the county for the majority of travellers.
I’ve been to Ballyseedy a hundred times but I can safely say last week was one of the first without 3 males for company so the majority of times I have been too occupied to glory in its splendour. The pics I took around there last week as can be seen here speak for themselves. Natural light – the way to go !
Once you lock the car door your occupied. Let the kids stretch the legs with a run around down near the swans and the resident pig. Any sandwich crusts from the road trip – let them tear them up and feed the swans. Children just love to see the reaction of the birds.
From the minute you enter, Interiors (some serious interiors), Crockery, Orla Kiely, Ambri Boards, Meadows & Byrne, an extensive array of Kids Baking Utensils, Fashion, Fab Statement Jewellery at the moment, an envious selection of BBQ’s.
Stroll on down to the Garden Cafe – a wide variety from light bites to a full meal. A great selection of desserts. Hot or cold platters. Coffee to go or take a seat. Even a glass of wine. This year the seating area has been extended and now boasts a separate play area for the toddlers. Where was this when mine were smaller I sighed !
Step outside then from the Cafe and there is a seated outdoors area which looks onto a play area for the older children. Great for boys – lots of climbing frames ! A huge array of outdoor furniture, pots & planters.
There is a polytunnel with all sorts of fruit and veg for you to plant at home. My two boys love this place. It would be a great place to stop off on a school tour.
Gardeners and horiculturists in abundance to help you out with tips and advice. I could listen to them all day. But I could smell the coffee and hear the phone ring in my pocket !
Had a great chat with Nathan. Rearing to go for another season ahead.
Until the next time. I can’t wait. Check it out www.Ballyseedy.ie
